Anthony Bourdain will be in Tallahassee and I didn't know it...until it was too late ! (pouting)
From Doug Blackburn’s article in the Tallahassee Democrat:
“Today he's no longer a professional chef. He's the host of the Travel Channel TV series "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations," where he scours the planet for extreme eating adventures.
In the process he has become what he once despised: a star with seemingly no chops.
Except that the irony of it all is not lost on the 54-year-old Bourdain, which is why he continues to be the anti-Rachael Ray.
As cruel as he can be, sparing no one as he casts a sardonic eye on the world, he is equally unflinching when he looks in the mirror.
"Who's the ho now? Me. That's who," Bourdain writes in the opening chapter — appropriately titled "Selling Out" — of last year's follow-up to "Kitchen Confidential," "Medium Raw: A Bloody Valentine to the World of Food and the People Who Cook."”

Within miles of our home – this culinary bad boy will be speaking and we do not have a ticket. F@#k me through the heart ……..if I had known about this earlier, I would have been in line for a pair of tickets. This was the first event to be sold out in the FSU series, Seven Days of Opening Nights. That is not surprising.
My blog buddy Velva at Tomatoes on the Vine will be going. (I've already begged her to get a photo :-)
Here are some cool links for Bourdain fanciers:
This is an entertaining article about Bourdain as well as a saucy photo of him “wearing” a bone. Yes. Just a bone.

Me too I love that bad boy! I read his first books many years ago. Thank you for updating me on all his exploits. I stopped in to ask Velva to post about her fun night. Wish I was there.
Rita
I did not realize how lucky I was to be holding two tickets in my hand for Wednesday night.
I love "bad boy" Bourdain too. I will do my best to get a photo for you.
Cheers.
Velva
Rita, if I thought I could figure out where he may dine this evening, I would go stalk the restaurant!
Velva - You are a lucky woman! We will all appreciate hearing about your experience and I sure would love a photo :-)
Even my kids like him, but, I like him more. :) I'm always amazed at some of the things he eats. So sorry you aren't going to see him. Maybe you could stalk him at his hotel. :)
LOL! - Tina - Thanks for the link for the picture of him with the bone. Oh my gosh is that a good one. Ha-ha! I'm sorry you missed seeing him in person. I hope Velva is successful in getting a few pics of him, without the bone:)
oh ! mr bourdain! my hero!
Janel, don't think that hasn't crossed my mind (haha)
Kim - If Velva gets a photo and shares it, I may put it on my sidebar :-) Bone or not!
Ron - I love his books, interviews and TV appearances.
Oh man! What a bummer...I hate it when something like that happens...so close, yet... UGH! Very cool that he's there, though =) I'd love to see him!
Girlichef - I was walking the dogs a bit ago and turned to Doug and said, 2 and half hours and Bourdain will be at FSU talking. Can you feel my envy? hahahaha
I love Bourdain too - love the way he narrates his show, you can still hear his voice in his books.
Hope you get a chance to see him one day!
Natashya, I will need to start paying attention to the authors and chefs I like and see what their tour schedules are like!
