Giada's Linguine with Scallops and lemon Oil

Before I get to Giada's recipe, I want to say thank you to Josie at The Skinny Way of Life for becoming a follower of my blog!

The theme at IHCC is Potluck…..love that theme cause I can do anything, any recipe and still participate,

Food Network has a host of Giada recipes and if you click HERE you’ll see the Giada recipe I modified. I simply substituted bay scallops for the shrimp.

Doug had to attend an out-of-town meeting just a day after we returned from vacation. Since it was on overnight trip but he got back late, I needed a fast meal to prepare so the dinner wasn’t sitting around getting old. This one fit the bill – fast prep and light. 10 minutes is all this took to toss together,

One reason I substituted the scallops in is because peeling raw shrimp makes me break out. Rashes everywhere. I wasn’t about to ask Doug to get in late and then peel shrimp……besides, scallops are very tasty.

Serve it up with some crispy garlic bread and a salad....great meal, easy to toss together...a Giada winner for us.

Hop over to IHCC and see what other Giada creations have been submitted.

Buon Appetito!

This is such a shame, we don't have scallops in Greece. I think I will use shrimps. Such a shame!

Yum - I actually have Giada's Linguine with Shrimps & Lemon bookmarked to make at some stage - the scallops are a great idea for a substitution, and we have them in season here right now, so I'm going to try this very soon. Thanks for the inspiration.

I love scallops and don't use them very much for some reason. I think I would prefer this dish with scallops over the shrimp. Looks wonderful and beyond easy.

great idea and taste in replacing with the scallops, esp since you cannot handle shrimp :-( ... poor Doug having to peel shrimp all the time.... like the ease of this one!

I don't think to use scallops often enough - what a great idea! And now I am also totally craving garlic bread..

10 minutes? My kind of meal. This looks like a great meal. I think it's a great idea to replace shrimp with bay scallops.

Joie - Thanks, we serve up small portions and "plan for seconds" which we usually don't need.

Katerina - Really? I didn't know that. They are a treat and I hope you get to try them.

Sue - Oh, do make this one of Giada's recipes. It's a snap!

Cook of the House - thank you so much for your nice comment.

Brenda - Thanks, I like the small bay scallops but you can use the giant sea scallops too.

Drick - I used to be able to peel shrimp.....I can with plastic bags on my hands!

Natashya - We like all sorts of seafood. Bay scallops are always easy to get here.

Velva - I love fast meals!

My favorite kind of meal--quick, easy and delicious. And of course anything with pasta and lemon is a winner in my book! ;-)

Deb - Thank you, it was a real hit. So happy we are doing Giada recipes these next 6 months.

Rita - Let me know if you make them!

Girlichef - I have done this one with shrimp too...but, no peeling for me. Haha
