Kahlua - Better make some more......

Thank you Sook and Fresh and Local Best for following my blog!

Remember back in December when we made Kahlua here at Squirrel Head Manor? Well, I neglected to post the results. This came to my attention when Doug and I realized we were almost out of the homemade batch. The recipe is HERE.

Belatedly, here are the results...it was excellent! Soooo good. So smooth. My SIL Barb told us we'd never want to buy Kahlua again once we made our own...so true.

As you can see we used an empty Maker's Mark bottle and have not decided on a label. I mean other than the sticker which barely covers the whisky label. But it's whats inside that is really important....

We made black and white Russians....very good.

I just wanted to share the results and for the life of me, I thought I had already posted them. Oh well....

Kobe did not sample.

I am getting my bread post ready and am excited to share it. This is my first loaf of bread using a food processor. More later......

I've been seeing people make kahlua at home, and I'm so inspired. I wanted to see how you made it too!

Woo-hoo! I'll have to try this sometime because it looks so good. I'll have to share with you my recipe for homemade Bailey's.

You made good use of that Maker's bottle! I've seen some posts on making liquors at home. That's pretty cool!

I definitely want that recipe for Baileys!

I posted the link at the top of this blog post for the detailed recipe. Complete with photos! Try it, you'll be happy two weeks later with the results.

Save your bottles from other liquors and you'll have your starter containers!
