An icy cold bottle of albarino...and peas

First off, let me thank Catherine for becoming a follower of my blog!

April Showers is the theme at I Heart Cooking Club. Fresh produce, fantasticly juicy fruits, local veggies in many varieties which aren't shipped in from other parts of the world.

I chose a very simple Jamie side dish of cheesy peas.

He states in his book Cook with Jamie - if your kids won't eat peas this way they'll never eat them. So true. The cheesy goodness gave the peas an extra punch. Yum!

Grillmaster Doug charred up some delicious grouper

and we had a cold fruit salad and bottle of Nora to round it out.

Nothing like a bottle of cold wine to cool you down in 90 F degree temps (32 C). Our thermostat died just in time for a hellishly hot weekend.....pass that glass.

You know what to do - head over to IHCC and see what April Showers inspired other folks to prepare.

Cheers! (Pretend you heard that in my best Mockney accent :-0 )

Still trying to convince myy guy that peas can be good; maybe I should add cheese. That grouper looks crispy good.

Love the pictures and will definitely have to try the cheesy peas! I wish it was 90 degrees here, it still feels too cold for white wine.

Thanks you guys! I wish we could share the warm weather with those of you in cooler climates. Believe me, I'd send it away!

Ooooooh - that fish looks fabulous ... don't panic about the Mockney - he's an Essex boy!

Wow - 90 degrees already. Too hot for this time of year! Love the cheesy peas and the grouper (both look great). Hope your AC is running good.

Those peas look delicious. I'm going to search for the recipe! My Mister will eat positively anything with cheese on it, so I will certainly have to find it. Too bad you can't have some of our 40 degree weather to temper your heat. I'm drinking lovely Pinots to keep warm here!

Easy peasy cheesy! Love it!
And I love that you have wine with every meal - you are my kind of gal!

Cheese makes everything good! ;-) I actually love peas so cheese just makes them all the better. Great pick!

I have been translating fish names for Vin this week - so she knows what to buy/order in France (hake = merlu, monkfish = lotte, cod = morue/cabillaud etc.) BUT grouper? Don't know what that is in British English or French ;o)
