Hello world!
Our son called last Wednesday with news. His wife was taken to labor and delivery early due to some possible complications. It was fine, but Elizabeth made her entrance into the world a few weeks early.
Welcome Elizabeth Marie!
This little beauty was born February 27th at Ft Stewart’s army hospital. She was a few weeks early but she is healthy and lovely. Nothing prepared us for the rush of love we felt when we held her. I predict serious spoiling in the future. Doug has already offered to purchase a pony. We have the pasture for it but I really and truly don’t want to take care of a pony.
Elizabeth Marie was 6 lbs, 4 oz and 18 inches long. My daughter-in-law is doing well, my son is now a very proud daddy and the baby is possibly the most beautiful child I have ever seen. Yes, I may be a little biased.
For anyone who hasn’t heard from me I assure you, I am not ignoring your calls, texts or emails. During our visit I managed to dump a tray of French onion soup on me. It has probably ruined my leather jacket, drenched my pants, burned me and got into my phone. Currently the phone is in a bag of rice and I hope I can save it. Only 7 weeks left in the contract. Last time I checked the screen started flickering and I saw I have voice mails, some texts and email. But I can’t open anything. There are many photos on that phone so I certainly hope I can salvage it.
We are back home now and I am already missing that little girl. Hopefully we can get up to Ft Stewart more often for visits. Right now I am recovering from bronchitis, have a husky voice that couldn’t be sexy but likely sounds like Harvey Fierstein. It’s been an exciting week.
Let me catch up on everything as I finally have access to my laptop. Will be “visiting” soon. If you have emailed me please have patience as I have been without phone and laptop for almost a week.
