Hello July!
I have to say we had a great June. Honestly, the best in a while. We get skittish in June as Aja gets older because, oddly enough, our previous pups (Veggie, Sally and Kobe) have died in June. Yep - all three years and years apart. We just want to get through it - despite it being my birthday and our anniversary month - because it seemed to be an unlucky month.
But not this month. It's been fun. Aja is in prime shape and her appetite is excellent. She's still running about as if she's 10 or younger. We had a fun birthday celebration and even better anniversary week. We also sold a car. Doug sold his Harley! We had such a great time with the convertible rental that we bought one! It's been so much fun so far. Photos coming up........
Eating healthier
Salads, cold fruit and cool meals are in order these days. For a healthy change I had a Greek Salad with grilled chicken. Excellent lunch. I have not abandoned my new Chowderland book yet and still have another chowder to share, but with the hot weather I think I may give that particular book a rest.
Basically this is just a Greek salad with grilled chicken on top. Satisfying and cool for hot summer days. Chowder and news about the new ride coming up soon.
Linking up with Deb for the Souper Sunday event at her place. Check out her Shrimp Gazpacho HERE. A cooling soup at Kahakai Kitchen!

Salad months are definitely with us ! Also great for riding in a convertible -- I haven't ridden in one for years.

Yay to a good June! Your salad looks delicious and perfect for our recent weather. Thanks for sharing it with Souper Sundays. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGlad June was such a happy month for you... hope July continues to be more of the same! I made soup last week, but it's definitely salad weather. As I plan meals for the week, there will certainly be several on the menu. Yours looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vicki. With the number of accidents we have seen reported in our area lately and the discomfort of sitting on a hot engine (with helmet and jacket) we decided to go for a more comfortable fun vehicle!
ReplyDeleteMae, until a few weeks ago I had never ridden in a convertible - such fun! And now I'm buying hats :-)
Deb, thanks for hosting! I love hooking up with Souper Sunday.
JoAnn - Thanks so much. I would like to expand the salads we have for lunches or side dishes. Anything cool.
That salad looks so yummy and healthy! I'm glad Aja is looking so well - I understand aging pet anxiety. Looking forward to more convertible pics in a just-as-great July!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Aja is doing so well and I think with those odds I'd be a bit nervous about June too. How fun to have bought a convertible! I could see that being as much fun as the motorcycle but maybe a bit more comfortable? The Greek salad looks delicious. We're doing kabobs here today and I found a Greek marinade for them (though of course I'll be leaving out the olives).
