Wine Wednesday - Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon (2009)

Every month we have a splurge meal. We select a wine that's not typical for our average monthly wine budget. We pair the meal around the designated wine and so far, we haven't been sorry. Life needs celebrations...

THIS wine is in a class of it's own. Fantastic. A 2009 Penfolds Bin 407 from South Australia holds the crown for the best wine on our table this month. It was recommended we open the bottle and let it breath a bit first. Diving in and not heeding that advice, we found this to be a wonderful wine with a fat grilled ribeye steak.

After it finally had a chance to breath (as recommended by @wine Wanker) we were treated to tastes of black currents and deep, rich dark fruit. Great mouth feel, light oak, richly aromatic. This is an elegant Cabernet Sauvignon worth every cent. Priced at $54 - we'll splurge on this one again.

Highly recommended!

Welcome and thank you so much for visiting. If I don't answer you here I will get back to you on your blog. Also have had to switch to approving comments due to some SPAM lately. Alas...
