I am so very pleased to report that we now have a working septic system. You have no idea what a thrill this is! I vented and ranted about the sorry situation which you can read about HERE.
Finally..on day 85, April 1st no less, we had a crew out here digging up the field, digging up the old septic tank and bringing in dump truck after dump truck of fresh dirt.
This is Brian Miller of Brian's Septic Services and he is our hero.
In a short period of time after calling him he had made all the arrangements for a massive above the ground drain field.
Oh how I wish I had called his company in January and not wasted time with another local company who totally screwed me around. Let me tell you folks...I know most of you are not in the Tallahassee Florida area but if you want something done professionally in the line of septic tanks and systems.....call Brian Miller. And feel free to contact me for any sordid details on my experiences with former company X.
One view of the back of the house.........
Another view, different angle....
Here is a photo of the drain field, all covered with fresh sod. Don't they do a good job?
From the field angle....
This is short and sweet because I had trouble getting online earlier...but had to share the news that we can now shower without black stinking water erupting from the ground. I can do dishes. I can flush the toilet every time....simple pleasures I never gave a second thought to before.
And what kills me...is this could have been done in late January. We didn't have to live like feral cave people....
But it's over and I have much to post on some good recipes as well as our most recent trip to Port Richey.
Right now I am off to the in-laws for a ham dinner. I made mac and cheese.
Cheers!

Well isn't that a nice Easter present! LOL! So glad it's taken care of finally! The old saying is true - we don't know what we've got until it's gone! Have a Happy Easter and a great week :-)

Thank you everyone! It's amazingly liberating just to flush a toilet without worrying about consequences. Sad, huh?
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to some new recipes as the I Heart Cooking Club has moved on to Mark Bittman. Lets give him a whirl, shall we?
