IHCC - HERBS

I Heart Cooking Club’s theme this week is Herbs (or is it are herbs? Grammatically, I am challenged) Awhile back we planted cilantro in our Worm’s Way planting container – wow, it really took off! See…

Fresh picked cilantro goes into a modified recipe of Jamie’s called spaghetti with shrimp and arugula. I don’t have arugula…..so I changed things out a bit.

Fresh pasta topped with shrimp, garlic, zucchini, mushrooms and anything in the fridge that looked like it needed using.

Served with a fruit salad, sitting on the patio, enjoying icy cold Chardonnay……ah…it’s a good life.

I have to mention that the tomato plants have gotten quite large, especially compared to a plant I put in the ground close to the same time we planted in the Worm’s Way container. We are considering the purchase of another planting box and that good potting soil to grow more peppers.

You know what to do – surf over to I Heart Cooking Club and see what herby concoctions our fellow cooks and bakers have come up with!

IHCC

Please sir, may I have another!

It doesn't get any better than shrimp and pasta. So glad to see your herbs and tomatoes are doing so well. It's great being able to go out back and grab things to eat.

Thanks Kim. We are enjoying it. A very large rabbit has been eyeing the tomatoes so...we need to guard our stash!

Everything looks wonderful! I've seen the same look on Cooper's face many times. You should see him dance for beef jerky! :)

I can't get over your tomato plant; wow! he just planted them and we have to cover them everynight; threat of frost. Next week I am hoping to plant my herbs.

You were right with "is". ☺ The subject of your sentence was "theme" (singular).

Wow, your garden is really blooming! My tomatoes are just seedlings still, we just passed our safe planting date up here.

Love the pasta with shrimpies and herbs - delicious!

Avrugula? Is that rocket? Are you remembering to pinch out the inside shoots on the tomatoes? Awake and ready to fly T *wriggles with excitement*

good looking shrimp, gonna throw some on the grill this weekend, mex spice & lime should do it... really like that way of planting, makes me want to get back in growing tomatoes, but every year I swear it off after only reaping 1 or 2 weeks of tomatoes, it just gets too hot by that time, humidity....

Janel - these dogs are such beggers, I can't resist them!

Rita - But you're in Canada...and we have deadly awful heat. Do you have a greenhouse? I'd love for Doug to build one!

Natashya - Ok, it sounded like "is"...and me with a university education, not knowing that - HA! We started up on drinks last night Mmmm..

Jo - Doug clipped the suckers and then some. We are journaling so we know what to do next season. I have made some mistakes. Have a blast in Spain!!

Drick - It is humid but I am getting a kick out of the tomatoes. Your grilled shrimp sounds great. We made a variation of your green bean casserole. Post coming up!

Brenda - We could be ina Mastercard commercial, right?!

Oh, I've had a craving for shrimp lately...and this would surely cure it! It looks wonderful. Wish I was sitting on the (as in, your) patio with a plate of this and a bottle of wine ;)

I love just about any combination of shrimp and pasta you can come up, and this sounds like a winner - love the use of cilantro as a change from the arugula, and the addition of mushroom and courgette sounds great too.

I would happily sit on your patio anytime and share a bowl of this and a glass of chardonnay - please??!
