Ok, what's up in your world? I really want to know.
As of late I have been snapping lots of photos, reading, staring out the window of my office wishing I weren't at work and plotting meals Doug and I can make together. It's always fun when we coordinate efforts for a meal.....or drinks.
Let's start with Cocktails!
Limencello.......something I had been wanting to try for quite some time. My friend Terry Townend made his own and reported it was absolutely delicious.
Today is Terry's birthday and I'd like to give a big shout out to him in Wales.
Happy Birthday, Terry!
This limencello was purchased and put though a few tests. I posted about it at Cocktail Puppy HERE.
Grab a cocktail glass, place it in the freezer, then marry 3 parts vodka to 1 part limoncello. It makes a smashing citrusy martini
Riding around in search of local joints.
We've taken a few rides with breakfast and/or lunch in mind. A few weekends back was a 175 mile ride for breakfast in which only one person pulled out in front of us and only one person rode too close from behind.
Before that was a 200 mile ride to get a delicious grilled grouper basket and sour cream and bacon potato salad. The ride back over the bridge at Apalachicola was so beautiful. You can see how long the road is. Blue waters, cool temps and pelicans flying very close along the bridge rail. They look like prehistoric birds.
Here is one view along a road we ride quite a bit. Fairly isolated and lovely.
Last but not least.....books.
Books at Novel Meals
I have neglected this book blog for awhile. Well..actually, I imported it from blogspot to Wordpress and I am still on the learning curve with WP.
The only reviews I have placed in 2012 are:
Waiting: True Confessions of a Waitress
Game of Thrones
The Wonder Spot
Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Shatner Rules
Garlic and Sapphires
I like reading a wide variety of subject matter but for this batch, Game of Thrones was soooo good. My favorite of that batch. Well, Shatner Rules was good too. Onward to the next stack of books.
What have you all been up to? Whatcha reading, eating, doing for fun....???

I haven't tried Limoncello yet, either. Sounds good though. I bet it'd make a killer hard lemonade or, oooh, add some to iced tea. :)
ReplyDeleteI miss the coast...
ReplyDeleteLimoncello is my new love, I love all things lemony and just recently tried lemoncello...I think it may have been a mistake, I love it a little too much.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your riding, it just got warm enough here but then the rain and hail followed so close behind...
I have been wanting to try Limoncello and your drink is tempting me. I have not read books very much since i started blogging, but I started reading again while we we in Victoria. Thank for the list; keeping it for my trip to Costco.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tina.
Rita
I love your drives for local grub. My hubby would think I was crazy driving that far for breakfast :-)
ReplyDeleteNice Blog:-)
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! Thank you so much for the nice comments. I appreciate that.
ReplyDeleteLimoncello is a wonderfully sweet/sour mixture that I have come to enjoy in cocktails.
Yes, we ride a long ways to find local restaurants and try new dishes. Lots of fun.
Great post. Love your photos.
ReplyDeleteWe are collecting bottles - to bottle up homemade limoncello ... dead easy to make. Today however I am mostly pickling garlic and reading my post card!
