Woo-Hoo, it's Saturday! What's been goin' on?

Finally it's Saturday .....

This is one of those weeks that seemed to drag by. The time at work oozed along at glacier-like speed. I think my office clock thumbed it's nose at me. Not that I spent time staring at it. A weird week overall.

What is going on in your world? Here is a small recap of what's up here in steamy north Florida.

Ok, starting with Cocktail Puppy. I had posted a short review on Whiskey Spiked Tipsy Cherries and then, after reading about National Vodka Day, posted on 360 Double Chocolate Vodka

Moving on to Goodreads.

In my last post I imparted what a bone-head I was, deleting my Goodreads account with all my reviews, all my books on the to-read list, my friends, etc....all gone. Ok. So, I started rebuilding my book file and since my previous user name was taken I have a new account.
As I said before, if we were friends there, my bad. Here I am now - Goodreads

Writing...I am doing a bit more writing and enjoying it. I entered a contest, didn't win, but had fun with it. My author friend Janel at Janel's Jumble gave me a head's up on the contest at Lascaux Flash. The first contest I'd entered in ages. Fun. Click that link if you'd like to find my entry. It got the juices going to send in another story at Postcard Shorts and I am currently working on another submission. Thank you Janel!

Weather
Do we ever feel cheated out of cool weather. C'mon! It's October and we ought to be getting open window weather. Not yet...we are still experiencing highs in the upper 80's. I have been eyeing the sweaters and boots in my closet, looking forward to wearing them.

Cooking and Baking
It's been some of the same repeat recipes which we love so much so I didn't see the need to repost recipes I have made many times over. Love baking the baguettes and French loaves. Tomorrow I am making Outback bread and sending a loaf to my kids up at Ft. Stewart.

Well that's about it............as far as I can remember in this long, long week.

Hope you are experiencing some good weather and enjoying life. Bye for now!

Argh, that must've been a head-table moment... glad you didn't give up on GR and registered anew :)

Chocolate vodka? That must taste like... yummy chocolate. Sounds tasty!

I had to look up Outback bread... so it is a slightly sweet rye bread that keeps well?

I'm glad you had fun writing the story for Lascaux!

Too bad you couldn't send that Outback bread a little farther north, I'd send back some cooler weather. It was too cold to open the windows today. Mid-50's daytime and it's in the 30's now.

Oh to weather in the 80s - but I understand how wearing it can be if it carries on unchecked!

The bread sounds delicious and I am sure that T & A will love it :o)

I have a job interview T ... *and breathe*

Chinoiseries - It was a toatl head banging moment. As a matter of fact, I considered just forgetting about rebuilding the bookshelves on GR but...I couldn't let that slide.
Yes, on the rye bread. It has molassses and this gives it a rich color and slightly sweet flavor.

Janel - I would trade you bread for sure if you could send that weather. Yes, please! Definitely enjoyed that contest and I have a few more markets I'd like to show you I found at Duotrope. Will write later,

Mrs. L - Good news this morning, I needed a light jacket. It's going to get very warm again but I had a nice walk this morning in cooler air.
Good luck on that interview! You'll knock 'em dead. You have so many wonderful skills and being multi-lingual will be a plus. Let me know :-)

Oh my I would have CRIED if I deleted my goodreads account! Seriously.. I think someone made mention of how to back up your goodreads shelves at least during Bloggiesta. I gotta find out. . .

You've been busy in the kitchen! Love it! :)

Birthday dinner - Crab cakes, cheese grits, champagne and a lovely evening!

Friday was Doug's birthday .  On birthdays we enjoy a good meal and plan a few fun activities.  The weather has improved (no storms !...
