Christmas Visit 2012

We had a great Christmas here at Squirrel Head Manor and I sure hope you all had a safe and happy one as well. It has been 6 months since we were able to visit with our son so his arrival was very, very welcome.

Besides enjoying a few good dinners together and spending Christmas morning chatting...we had a blast going out to Bonefish Grill to celebrate Tristan's birthday.

We continued the festivities after returning home (don't drink and drive!) and three of us got rather toasted. Lots of chatter, laughs and a good time. I am going to miss being able to just text him or call him after he deploys.

Lots of visiting - Here he is with his grandfather a few days before Christmas.

Doug bought me a lovely gift, a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, which I have been wanting for ages, and it's been used a few times already.

So far, we made Italian bread, Outback bread and a rum cake. There are more plans in the works for the breads I just couldn't manage using the bread machine as the maximum quantity of flour you may use is limited. Now I can make a few loaves at the same time and share.

Winter is certainly here with a blast of very cold temperatures. Doesn't even care that we are in Florida as we have been getting up to 32 F and winds making it feel in the upper 20s. While I love the cooler weather so I can wear my boots, I am ready for something less bone chilling!

I want to wish you all a safe and happy new years celebration. We plan to stay home and enjoy some champagne and lots of appies.

Thank you for your visits to my site and all the lovely comments you've made during the year. It's fun sharing recipes, stories and photos with you all.

Cheers!!

Welcome and thank you so much for visiting. If I don't answer you here I will get back to you on your blog. Also have had to switch to approving comments due to some SPAM lately. Alas...

It's been a good run...........
