Cedar Key Florida

Who doesn't love a vacation, really.....just getting away from everything for a few days.

We spent a couple of days at the Lo-Key Hideaway located on Cedar Key in Florida.

We ate well. Tony's Restaurant on the island proved to be a winner with fantastic clam chowder

and grilled seafood and steamed clams.........

Bliss........relaxation....... We enjoyed walking down the dock to look at the Gulf waters during the day and view the stars and milky way in the evening.

Gorgeous sunsets and funnily enough, all the sunsets we observed were different from the previous evenings.

The Tiki Bar is on premises and a short jaunt from our room.

A boat wreck just a ways off the dock ....

We read quite a bit. Here is my review of Four Days With Hemingway's Ghost which I can not recommend. Started a Jane Austen themed book and I am thick in the middle of it at present, these last few days of vacation.

Alas, it's Friday now so only a few days left of vacay.......

  8. Cedar Key is a great place to kick back and relax. Not too far from home, but just far enough to feel far away.

Good book, good food, great days, and starry evenings cannot be beat.
