Not everyone surfs about on Pinterest but I can tell you, it’s a great place to get some good recipes. It’s also good for DIY projects, gardening posts and tips, humor….lots of subjects. Last month I saw this Martha Stewart recipe on Pinterest (Check it out here)
As I also have that wonderful book One Pot by The Martha, I thought we’d try this one. We like chicken, corn and bacon so it should be a winning dinner. Cooking all of it in one pot makes a big difference in cleanup. As you may have noticed from the photo I linked to on Pinterest, this is from Martha’s book. Unless the lady who pinned it did a great job plating it.
Here is a page from One Pot.
Here is my version - Nailed it!
Ok, for starters I didn’t use leg quarters, I used thighs. Screw the legs, that’s what I thought. Maybe that would have made a vast improvement in the aesthetic presentation. For the record it tasted great. What a combo of flavors popping and complimenting each other.
Here is a pic of it simmering in the pot.
Perhaps I won’t be getting a call for culinary photography jobs anytime soon. That’s cool.
This month I am joining Trish at Love, Laughter & Insanity for her Pin it and Do it event. I'm also hooking up with Beth Fish Reads for her Weekend Cooking Series.
Weekend Cooking is open to anyone who has any kind of food-related post to share: Book (novel, nonfiction) reviews, cookbook reviews, movie reviews, recipes, random thoughts, gadgets, quotations, photographs. If your post is even vaguely foodie, feel free to grab the button and link up anytime over the weekend. You do not have to post on the weekend. Please link to your specific post, not your blog's home page. For more information, see the welcome post.

Good ole Martha! It looks delicious to me.
ReplyDeleteYum! Maybe not the prettiest but it sounds amazing. I'll have to do some tweaking to this recipe because my husband won't eat dark meat but I love the idea of the salty bacon and the sweet corn with the chicken.
ReplyDeleteLooks really good and easy enough. I"ve never made a Martha Stewart recipe. Maybe I'll get one of her cookbooks from the library.
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten my PI&DI post finished yet but hope to post it later today.
Yum Yum! Perfect meal for a rainy day. Which it is now in Northern Nevada! Yay rain!!
ReplyDeleteOne pot meals appeal to me and so does the combination of chicken, bacon, and corn - yum!
ReplyDeleteFood photography is so hard, especially now that it gets dark early. I ended up not even posting my photos for the latest Pin It and Do It :(
This one looks so good, I'm pinning it too.
ReplyDeleteI love your sense of humor Tina! Photographing food is HARD! I just splurged on an indoor light, but I'll have to feign ignorance when it shows up and my husband asks where the heck it came from. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe meal does sound delicious, though! And I love the idea from cooking from ONE pot--most nights it feels like we're washing all of the pots and pans we own!
Chicken, corn, bacon -- what's not to love? And I'm all for one pot meals with less cleanup!!
ReplyDeleteChicken corn and bacon -- yes. I need to improve my food pics - not easy to get the right light/composition. Cheers from Carole's Chatter!
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious. I'm always interested in recipes containing meat and milk - you don't see them often in Wales. I now make a smoked haddock, bacon and corn chowder that does and is delicious.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great meal. I'm not a huge Martha fan, but her recipes almost also work. Food photography is my weakness.
ReplyDeleteThanks, ladies! It is quite difficult to get decent good photos, for me, but every so often I get lucky. In spite of the rough look, it was tasty 😊
