Check out seeds from the library. No, really.....you can check out seed packets.

The local library has a program supporting gardening. You check out packets of seeds. You don't actually return the seeds, unless you have some left, but it's a great way to get people interested in gardening.

This weekend we planted a few Swiss Chard seeds in the tray. Now they will sit under the grow light until they sprout and get strong. We are hoping to put the chard plants in the raised beds by late September. Let’s hope the weather turns cooler as that would be the ideal condition.

Updates on the seedlings coming up.

  1. What a neat idea! I know seeds are pretty inexpensive, but I think more people would be willing to give gardening a try if they could get the seeds free.

  2. That's awesome! I always use about a tenth of my package of seeds so this would be a great way to feel not quit so wasteful.

    1. You know, that happens to me too. I don't always use the entire package. There aren't many in these packs but that's perfect.

  3. That is an excellent idea - tomatoes are a big thing for me and I want to grow more next summer, maybe some heritage varieties. Can you get those?

Welcome and thank you so much for visiting. If I don't answer you here I will get back to you on your blog. Also have had to switch to approving comments due to some SPAM lately. Alas...

It's been a good run...........
