Ommegang Belgium Ale

We had this with Chinese stir fry last night. I will post the meal later but had to make a quick mention of this wonderful ale. It has such body, it's like eating bread. Good bread. Similar to the Hennepin we had last week, this was the perfect match with shrimp stir fry.

From the bottle:

Ommegang is a Belgian Abbey Ale - top fermented and bottle conditioned, yielding a rich, fruity, aromatic burgundian brew.
I like it better than Chimay. And I like Chimay.

Today, farmer's market trip, library to pick up some cookbooks and a concert - Celtic Woman performs here this evening.

Happy weekend everyone!

I love Ommegang - I am always amazed how well lager goes with Asian food ... Singha Beer with Thai green curry is great! Never heard of Celtic Woman - off to Google her/them!

Oh I love them - fabulous music! However I'll neve get to see them - Simon doesn't "do" live music/concerts ... remind me to tell you about taking him to see Joan Baez - who was fab by the way!

WC - It was wonderful. Do they ever tour in Canada?

Jo - It was my first time trying this ale. Great stuff. Yes, I must hear the Joan Baez story.

I don't know. Mind you, I live in the middle of nowhere and the idea of entertainment in these parts is muay thai boxing fights.
