Welcome Jamie Oliver and a New Cookbook for me!!

Ever since the announcement that Jamie Oliver would be our next featured chef at I Heart Cooking Club, I have been collecting his recipes which I have been meaning to try.

We were all looking forward to Jamie's arrival!

I have many meals planned but my basic "naked chef" go-to this particular week is plain ol' bacon and eggs.

It's been a crazy busy week and half with a wedding, house repairs, wicked heavy rain (that prevented some house repair), worrying about our son who has sent two letters.....(and nothing else since he has been in basic combat training)......oh, OH...then I have this allergy thing going that makes me cough such scary, frightening hacking coughs that people are afraid of me. Really.

So yeah.....simple old bacon and eggs...Naked Chef style. Stay tuned for more exciting selections. Now...about that book!

On the happier side of life here, because you should end with a good note (don't you think so?)I arrived home from work on a crappy rainy day...and there awaiting me at the gate was the The Cook's Book!

I won this book from Ruth who is the host of Presto Pasta Nights in honor of the 4th Birthday Bash. Yea me!!

This is a book put out by DK Publishing I am a fan of this publisher with many of their books on my wish list, as well as some I own, such as the Illustrated Cook’s Book of Ingredients and the Kitchen Bible.

I can’t wait to dive in and prepare something from this book. Thank you Ruth!

Right....head over to IHCC and see what else the Naked Chef has inspired folks to make. I have a great pasta dish coming up :-)

hey, I know of the allergy thing, that tickle in the back of your throat that won't go away, and you are right, everyone looks at you like you got TB.... the pollen has been awful here, thick yellow glow on everything, did ya'll get any rain? at least it washed away a layer

  6. *looks again after reading MM's comment* Is the puddle the grits?

Can't beat the simplicity of bacon and eggs when you want taste BUT have you tried Midnight pan-cooked Breakfast from his book "The Return of the Naked Chef"? Lush!!!

  10. I'm so excited to cook with Jamie! Love the pic of your pup too.

You can never go wrong with a good ol' bacon and eggs breakfast, especially with grits on the side. Great way to get naked!

Welcome and thank you so much for visiting. If I don't answer you here I will get back to you on your blog. Also have had to switch to approving comments due to some SPAM lately. Alas...

It's been a good run...........
